Data Age Celebrates 30 Years of Innovation

Data Age Business Systems has reached an exciting milestone as the company celebrates 30 years of delivering innovative business management and point-of-sale software solutions to pawn shops, jewelry stores, gold, coin and second-hand dealers, and cell phone repair shops.

The company is led by CEO, Len Summa, with strategic support from the original founders, Tom Streng and Randy Peffly. Data Age Business Systems has maintained privately-held ownership throughout its history allowing them to control business decisions and ensure a consistent focus on meeting the needs of the customer base.

The company’s suite of product offerings has expanded over the past three decades in response to evolving retail and regulatory business needs in the industries it serves. eCommerce, text messaging and customer loyalty programs are built into the software to provide a seamless experience and more exposure for the businesses it serves. The software has had multi-store and mobile capabilities for over a decade and goes well beyond the point-of sale by managing inventory and audits, customer metrics, loan calculations, payment management, and marketing programs. It allows users to provide a quick, convenient experience for their customers, increasing productivity while reducing operational costs.

During the past 30 years, the company has come to be known as the brand of choice with the most innovative and stable platform in the industries it serves. Grown from the initial co-founders in 1988 to more than 50 employees today, the company credits much of its success to their agility and focus on customer service.

“Much of our success and longevity is due to our ability to support our customers while adapting and continuously improving our technology,” says CEO, Len Summa. “We began with the philosophy of listening to our customers and delivering quality products and services that can support their businesses throughout their entire lifecycle. We’re the only software company in this space that offers both cloud and on-premise solutions. We’re now a global company, servicing 29 countries with tens of thousands of end-users. I’d like to extend my “Thanks” to the thousands of customers who have supported us and given feedback to help make us who we are today.”

Data Age will be commemorating this achievement with month-long celebrations at their Clearwater headquarters.
