Here is a great reason to start using the industry’s leading pawnbroker software PawnMaster.
KALISPELL- A Flathead Valley pawn shop is improving security measures to prevent stolen items from coming into the store.
First National Pawn in Kalispell has recently seen a big increase in the number of stolen items coming into their store. About five stolen items would come into the pawn shop a month a few years ago, but now employees say they see about five stolen items a week.
Customers must go through a screening process of having their photo and thumb prints taken and saved in a computer database in an effort to combat the growing problem.
“If customers don’t want to take a photo there may be something wrong. The item may be stolen; therefore we do turn down any customers that don’t want to take a photo,” store manager Mike Reiner explained.
Employees also now ask questions to the seller including how much the item cost and where it came from.
With PawnMaster we upload all of our files directly to the local law enforcement agency in the file format they prefer. We integrate with ID scanners, thumb print readers, and can print all of this valuable information out on each pawn ticket.
